Module Overview

The programme comprises 18 modules structured across eight semesters, earning a total of 120 credits. The curriculum progresses from foundational anatomical sciences and core massage to advanced clinical ethics, preventative therapy, and specialized holistic practices.

Semester 1

Examine the structural and functional principles of the human body. Focus on the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and nervous systems to understand movement, physical stress, and recovery mechanisms relevant to sports therapy.

Develop rigorous professional standards for maintaining personal health, clinical cleanliness, and safe practitioner habits to ensure a sterile and supportive environment for clients.

Introduce the basic strokes, handling techniques, and physiological effects of therapeutic massage to develop the tactile sensitivity required for advanced therapies.

Semester 2

Learn the essential protocols for setting up a hygienic, welcoming, and functionally optimal clinical treatment space, including equipment management and ambient control.

Navigate the legal frameworks, professional conduct, client confidentiality, and ethical decision-making required in advanced clinical massage therapy practice.

Semester 3

Explore the professional responsibilities, scope of practice, and daily clinical operations expected of a sport therapist managing individual athletes or professional teams.

Focus on proactive strategies for injury prevention, athlete screening, movement correction, and the implementation of safe, sustainable training boundaries.

Semester 4

Differentiate and apply advanced massage modalities. Tailor techniques to specific athletic needs, competitive phases, and distinct stages of complex injury recovery.

Examine the psychological factors influencing athletic performance, injury recovery, and motivation to support clients through performance anxiety and rehabilitation plateaus.

Semester 5

Understand essential dietary principles, hydration strategies, and nutritional interventions required to support heavy training loads, optimise recovery, and maintain holistic health.

Develop practical skills in applying supportive taping and strapping to protect vulnerable joints, restrict unwanted movement, and aid structural recovery during participation.

Semester 6

Explore the therapeutic properties and safe application of essential oils to enhance physical recovery, reduce psychological stress, and complement holistic treatments.

Learn the theoretical foundations and practical application of cupping to relieve deep muscle tension, break up fascial adhesions, and improve localised blood flow.

Semester 7

Study the holistic practice of applying targeted pressure to specific reflex points on the feet and hands to promote systemic healing and nervous system regulation.

Identify and stimulate key acupressure points across the body's meridians to manage pain, reduce athletic fatigue, and begin restoring overall energetic balance.

Semester 8

Advance from isolated points to comprehensive acupressure treatment protocols. Formulate full-body treatment plans based on traditional Eastern diagnostic principles.

Integrate physical postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), and mindfulness to improve athletic mobility, joint stability, and mental focus as a core therapeutic tool.

Apply strength, speed, and movement development principles to return athletes to peak performance following injury, bridging the gap between rehabilitation and active competition.
