Programme Overview

The Diploma in Molecular Biology provides students with an introduction to the molecular basis of life and the biological processes that occur within living cells. The programme is designed for students who are interested in understanding DNA, genes, proteins, genetic inheritance and the molecular basis of health and disease.

Students will develop foundational knowledge in cell biology, DNA and RNA, genetics, molecular genetics, proteins and biotechnology. The programme also introduces students to basic molecular laboratory techniques and the application of molecular biology in disease diagnosis and scientific research.

The programme is suitable for students who wish to develop a foundation in molecular biology before progressing to further study in biomedical science, biological sciences, biotechnology, molecular diagnostics or related disciplines.
