Sport has the power to transform a nation. However, true sporting excellence is built not only on talent and dedication, but on strong scientific foundations.

Through my personal research and professional experience, I observed that scientific knowledge in sports performance, nutrition, physiology, psychology, and conditioning among many coaches and athletes in Sri Lanka remains significantly limited when compared to leading Olympic nations such as the USA, Russia, and other global sporting powers. I strongly believe that one of the key reasons Sri Lanka has not consistently reached world-class performance levels is the lack of structured, science-based education in sport.

Another major barrier I identified is language. Many talented grassroots coaches, trainers, and aspiring athletes hesitate to pursue higher education due to language limitations. As a result, they miss access to internationally recognized scientific knowledge that could transform their careers and performance outcomes.
